Dominion Modern is an archive of 20th Century Canadian architecture and design. Our goal is to collect, catalogue, preserve and disseminate. Dominion Modern proposes to be a leading voice in advancing knowledge, promoting public understanding and widening thought and debate on the art of 20th century Canadian architecture and design.

ORAL HISTORY PROJECT
A vital programme, the Oral History Project was launched to record the biographical histories of Canadian architects, engineers and designers. The archive contains over 200 interviews including Stanley Roscoe, the architect of Hamilton City Hall, engineer Morden Yolles, architects H.P.D. Van Ginkel, Sidney Bregman, George Hamann, Arthur Erickson, Max Kalman, François Dallegret and builder Kenneth Rotenberg.
PUBLISHING PROGRAMME
Dominion Modern published its first book, Mean City: From Architecture to Design, How Toronto Went Boom! It proposes an ambitious plan to publish an entire series on Canadian architects and designers, based on the same format. Compact, glossy, well designed, well researched and affordable.
EXHIBITIONS PROGRAMME
Recent exhibitions include, Mean City (2005), PETER DICKINSON ARCHITECT (2003) and HUGH ROBERTSON PHOTOGRAPHER (2003). ENDANGERED SPECIES (2007) and OISE D&A (2007). Currently researching and assembling for MÉTRO and NOXON in 2008.
CATALOGUING COLLECTIONS
Dominion Modern acquires and catalogues collections of individual architects and designers for future generations. We maintain a large collection of Canadian 20th Century artefacts -- from furniture and industrial design to photographs, drawings and ephemera.
