Universally Local:
An Exploration of City Systems

The solutions to one city's problems are local. The solutions to many cities' problems are Universally Local.

The Institute without Boundaries will be opening the exhibit Universally Local and launching the book by the same name at 7pm on Friday, June 11th, 2010.

The exhibit is the result of year one of the City Systems project: new perspectives on what makes a city work and a revitalisation plan for the Toronto Community Housing site Flemingdon Park.

Building on the research, tools and design work developed in Massive Change and World House, this year the team explored, dissected and re-imagined the complexities of city systems. How do cities work? Communicate? Interconnect? What will urban life hold in the future? How can we make a difference?
