NOXON

COURT NOXON: ARCHITECT AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER

NOXON Postcard

NOXON is a celebration of Canadian architect and industrial designer Court Noxon and the immense catalogue of work he produced for his company Metalsmiths from 1954 to 1982.

Imagine a world where farming and design come together in a most beautiful fashion. This is the story of the Noxon family in Canada; from agricultural implements, to decorative architectural ironwork, to sleek stainless steel furniture. The Noxon name has become synonymous with sophisticated modern furniture and the growth of industrial design in Canada. Metalsmiths is very much the personification of this maverick. Noxon not only worked among the best of his generation, people like Jan Kuypers and Leif Jacobsen, he made components for major furniture houses including Knoll and Laverne, while selling furniture of his own design across the country and abroad.
